T U N N E L L I N G // Letβs talk tunnelling.
Tunnelling is the annoying moment when your candle seems to burn down the middle & then self-extinguishes and the wax doesnβt melt all the way to the edges - usually from short burns aka blowing it out before a full melt pool has been reach.
ππ€π¬ ππ§πͺπ¨π©π§ππ©ππ£π!!! Iβm here to tell you that all is not lost and there may be a way (or 2) to save your beautiful candle.
Firstly, itβs super vitally important that you burn your candle until the liquid pools right to the edge of your jar each and every time you light your candle.
If the tunnelling has started and you just canβt keep the flame alight, try pouring excess wax out onto some paper towel.
Iβve even found that in seemingly hopeless situations, scooping out some of the surrounding wax to create a more level surface can help save your candle.
So for best performance, the first burn is most important to let your candle burn long enough to create a full melt pool, this will help to ensure your candle will stay smooth and even. Which is usually 3-4hrs for each burn.
It also helps maximise your burn time for your candle.

Much loveΒ
